Vikings Beat Fenwick 11-6

Miamisburg improved to 5-1 with their 11-6 win over Fenwick on Saturday. Aaron Sundermann, Grant Harris, and Braden Barr held the Falcons to only 2 earned runs off 9 hits while recording 10 strikeouts. Grant Harris came out with the win to improve to 2-0 on the season.


Offensively, the Vikings were led by Dylan Wudke, who went 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs and scored a run. Jon Yerkins and Grant Harris added doubles as Joey Yerkins, Cam Bryant, Will Cook and Connor Dye also added singles. Harris and Cook had 3 RBIs and 2 RBIs respectively.


The Vikings host Preble Shawnee on Tuesday, April 9 as part of their Staff Appreciation Day.

Wudke and Bryant Combine for No-Hitter as Vikings Beat Wayne 18-0

Dylan Wudke and Cam Bryant combined for a no-hitter as the Vikings knock off GWOC National Conference opponent Wayne 18-0 at Toadvine Field. Wudke earned the winning throwing 4 nearly flawless innings, striking out seven and allowing on a base runner who reached on an error. Bryant came in the fifth to seal the win and struck out all three batters he faced.


The offense was led by Connor Dye, who was 3-for-3 with a double, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Joey Yerkins and Will Cook also collected two hits each as Cook had 4 RBIs. Tyler Kenyon, Aaron Sundermann, Logan Ritter, Grant Harris, Jordan Boxer, and Alex Hamilton also added hits on the day.


The win moves the Vikings to 4-1 and 1-0 in the GWOC.

April 4, 2019 Toadvine Field

Vikings Fall to Middletown Madison 1-4

The Vikings suffered their first setback of the year as they fell to the Madison Mohawks 1-4 on Tuesday. Solid pitching by sophomore Will Cook was not enough to take down the Mohawks as Madison pitcher Tristan Sipple threw an amazing game. Sipple gave up 8 hits, but struck out 12 while allowing 1 run.

Dylan Wudke and Ethan Schultz each had three hits to lead the offense. The Vikings had opportunities but left 11 runners on base. 

Cook finished the game allowing only six hits, 4 runs and striking out five in 4 innings of work. Aaron Sundermann came in to throw two innings, allowing no hits and striking out three.

The Vikings open up league play Thursday at Toadvine vs. Wayne at 5:00.

April 2, 2019 @ Madison

Harris Throws 1-Hitter to Beat WC

Junior Grant Harris kept West Carrollton off-balanced all night in frigid temperatures at Wright State Monday night. Harris gave up only 1 hit while striking out seven in five innings on his way to the win.

Offensively, solid base running produced 10 runs. The VIkings scattered three hits on the night. Cam Bryant had a double and Grant Smith and Dylan Wudke added singles. The Vikings took advantage of West Carrollton’s 8 walks and 3 hit batters. Joey Yerkins, Grant Smith, Cam Bryant, and Connor Dye all had a stolen base.

April 2, 2019 Wright State University

Cook Excellent in Win over Butler

Sophomore Will Cook earned his first varsity win by throwing a gem against Vandalia Butler. Will threw 5 innings, allowed 6 hit, 3 runs, 3 earned runs, while striking out 7. Ethan Schultz finished the the 6th and 7th innings to earn the save.


Offensively, the Vikings were led by Jon Yerkins and Jordon Boxer, who each collected 2 hits. Ethan Schultz, Grant Harris and Jon Yerkins each had doubles, while Joey Yerkins, Tyler Kenyon, Cam Bryant, and Dylan Wudke also added hits.


Good pitching, solid defense, aggressive plate appearances and base running has the Vikings off to a 2-0 start.

March 28, 2019 Vandalia

Vikings Open Season with 12-1 Win at Edgewood

The Miamisburg Vikings opened their season with a win on the road over Edgewood 12-1. Edgewood struck first with a run in the bottom of the first, but it was all Vikings after that. The Vikings put up 5 in the second and fourth innings, and added 2 in the fifth. Great pitching by senior Dylan Wudke and solid defense led the Vikings to a great opening day victory.



Jon Yerkins led the Vikings offense with a single, double and and 2 runs scored. Logan Ritter, Aaron Sundermann, and Dylan Wudke also added hits. The Burg baserunners took advantage of the Edgewood mistakes to seal the win.
